Nice association with the product. Yes it is riske but I'd imagine that was the intention... it'll certainly get people's attention. Quite clever if you ask me.

This is so wrong.

Using an iconic apartheid symbol to sell self-tan? Epic, catastrophic fail.

It's amazing what white people in South Africa think is funny, or clever. Very insensitive. Offensive. And, it makes absolutely no sense.

I'm a white South African and I do not find this to be funny or clever. In fact I'm shocked that such an offensive, insensitive piece of work was approved by the ECD, nevermind the client! Please do not generically judge a whole ethnic group of people based on one silly, thoughtless piece of work.

Have you got your fucking head in the sand?!! How the hell is this relevant to context, or the brand for that matter. Even if you put the "apartheid" issue aside, all you left with is a really bad pun. Feels like this was pursued for it's shock value rather than "hey what an awesome idea".....

The only thing that comes to mind with this ad, is a really sad time in SA history, the apartheid era. It's strange that some people take pride in reminding everyone of this... is this how the brand wants to sell product? The extent that agencies go to, to win awards is unbelievable..
