this is such a great use of a new medium! i'm sure any beer company could do this, but i've never seen it before. how fun!

not really a new medium. a fair few brands have done this, but most of them had a relevance. this one though, doesnt really have that.
wouldnt it just be easier/more comfortable holding the normal pole?
if the beer cans were hanging from the roof and you could hold onto those, it might be better. but even then, its still not new.

True, agree to kre8, it look harder to hold on those can.
But i like the third picture where people look like yamsheng (what does it call in english?).
How if they make it cold when holding? haha. cold beer.

yeah, it's not the same. it's easier to hold onto because it's just a sticker on a door handle.
i still like the placement of the cans because if you hold onto it, it does look like you are holding a can of the beer, and holding it might make you want to have one! I know I could use one now! It's FRIDAY!
You can easily grasp anywhere else on the pole if you don't want to grab the beer. having them dangling from the horizontal bars would be funny, it would seem as though you were holding the beer can up in the air triumphantly.

"The idea is to generate the same sensation you have when you are grabbing the beer."

Are they trying to create the illusion that you are a little tipsy from the beer due to the movement of the train while standing? If so, then this is a tad more original than the door handle as the mug handle. Maybe this idea would work best for a brand of beer that positions themselves as "it'll get you drunk, fast".

Heineken was launched a similar campanign in Hong Kong's Mass Transit Railway (MTR in-train ad)2 years ago.

I'm not sure this would fly in NZ given our liquor advertising regulations. Wouldn't want all the little kiddies to experience this before their time. I like the idea though.

Not bad, but not really new. There have been a lot of branded public transit poles, handles and such.

I kinda like the suggestion of making it colder than the rest of the pole. Would be a nice experience if there was actually liquid in the "can" which you can feel swirling as the train moves. Dunno if that makes it better, just thought it could be cool.
