National Geographic: Ant habitat
National Geographic Ambient Ad - Ant habitat

Description

The blue substance inside the board is a special type of gel. The gel serves as both habitat and nutrition for ants, allowing you to watch in awe as they turn the blue gel inside the board into a fascinating colony of tunnels. It is also transparent so that people can watch from both sides of the board. The gel is developed by NASA and is now sold in ant aquariums known as AntWorks.
This is a student work and therefore only a Photoshop sketch of the idea.
The board should be placed under shadow or inside a building; a busy train station or a shopping mall where people can study the ants and how they dig tunnels over a period of time. The ants can live within this habitat for up to 5-6 months if needs be.

Nice work for students, but a real ant farm bus shelter has already been done by Colgate.

If you lived in Hong Kong, you would have seen this Bus Shelter Ant Farm already. Enjoy:

When was this bus shelter produced? The video was published yesterday.

We came up with our idea last year and won a competition with it in Norway. Haven't seen anything like it until the video you just posted. Was a bit sad to see that it has already been produced as we have tried to get this one produced a long time. But it was difficult since we were students with no money to put into it.

Oh well. The same technique can be used with other brands even though it has been done in Hong Kong.

Thanks for comments btw.

There's no new idea here. You've simply taken someone else's idea and invention and put a logo on it.

It is a shame about it being done in Hong Kong, but see that as a positive point. It means you can come up with ideas that are just as good as professionals. Well done guys I think it's great and your website is fantastic. Some really impressive work on there. Tom Harvey
