I happen to know for a fact it's not a "plagiary" as I have done it. We have seen a ton of scary movies and theater plays (where people coming out of walls like this are quite common). Unfortunately we had not seen "the afterlife" ad. But even though the effect is the same I must say the ideas are different - we play with peoples curiosity, they expect to see something on their phone but gets scared instead. Afterlife is more a jump scare that you don't expect. Therefor less sophisticated in my mind. But anyway, thanks for your enthusiasm!
