Hello, I'm new here. I'm from São Paulo, Brazil.
I'm considering a change in career and advertising is one of the (most strong) possibilities. In case I decide to go that way, I considering attending a 2-year course at the Miami Ad School around here, which is actually a partnership with ESPM, probably the most respected marketing/advertisement school in Brazil.
The questions are:
(i) How good/respected/well-known is Miami Ad School? Is it something that would make a difference (other than a good portfolio, obviously) for someone trying to break into the market?
(ii) Is the course designed for people with experience with advertising? I'd prefer attending the art director course and I have no experience whatsoever in advertising, but I am a semipro photographer and I like to think I have some reasonable aesthetic taste.
Despite the fact I'll be attending the School in São Paulo, I'm not too concerned about knowing how good is the course here (people tell me it is good), but rather if the school is really as good as it seems.
Thanks a lot!
