This summer, Darn Tough is launching a new national campaign created by its Chicago-based creative AOR Someoddpilot.
Titled "We Make One Thing And One Thing Only," the campaign invites consumers inside the Vermont mill where every Darn Tough sock is made, offering a humorous look at the craftsmanship, people, and philosophy behind the brand.
The campaign launches with a :60 hero spot, supported by a broader suite of :15 and :30 executions. The agency also created a dedicated landing page for the campaign, https://darntough.com/pages/made-in-vermont-usa.
At a time when consumers are paying closer attention to manufacturing claims and product quality, the campaign reframes "Made in USA" as more than a label. Instead, it positions it as a commitment to doing things the right way, even when it's harder, slower, or less efficient.
Built around the idea "Made Right or Not At All," the work highlights a simple truth at the heart of Darn Tough: if the company can't stand behind a product for life, it won't make it.
Instead of a polished factory tour, Someoddpilot turns Darn Tough's Vermont mill into a playful, character-filled world, with practical effects and in-camera gags, following a mix of real employees, actors, and even the founder of the brand, Ric Cabot, through an increasingly unexpected day on the factory floor. Along the way, viewers get an authentic look at how the socks are made and why, as the spot notes, Darn Tough has had "decades to make socks better than anyone else."
The factory itself becomes a central character in the story, with a continuous walk-and-talk camera movement carrying viewers through a series of vignettes that reveal the care, attention, and pride that go into every pair of socks.
The campaign has launched nationally across social, CTV, print, and digital channels.
