If you know, you know, and newly launched golf apparel brand Rookline knows golf.

To create and debut the brand, Rookline enlisted the help of equally passionate golfers at creative agency Something Different, which developed the “We Know Because We Play” platform to introduce Rookline to the golfing community.

Rookline is driven by an all-consuming love from the game of golf, and is dedicated to crafting the absolute best apparel to help golfers get through their round and all that comes afterwards. The apparel is designed with the same drive for perfection that the game of golf brings out in those who love it.

Something Different and Rookline worked closely to:
Help develop the brand identity, positioning and aesthetics.
Communicate the brand's values – real, obsessed, accessible and authentic – with the “We Know Because We Play” campaign, which tees off today, 11/12 and speaks to the love of golf, with a dash of humor.

Leverage the language of golf, with lines such as, “For those who know a fried egg has nothing to do with breakfast,” and “If your favorite thing from Texas is its wedge, you’re one of us.”

The collaboration between Rookline and Something Different was born on the golf course, when Rookline Founder Matt Dowling and Something Different co-founder and Chief Creative Tommy Henvey met during a round.

“Golfers are desperate for a brand that gets it,” said Henvey. “Once I met Matt, I knew that with his passion for the game combined with his apparel expertise, Rookline would be the brand that has been missing from the market. As an obsessed golfer myself, it has been so exciting to partner with him to build the brand from scratch and create the ‘We Know Because We Play’ platform that articulates the inexplicable devotion golfers have to the game.”

“Some may think this dedication to putting a little white ball into a hole in the ground is strange, but we don’t just understand it; we encourage it,” said Dowling. “Tommy and his team at Something Different also understood that innately, and they have been the ideal partners to help develop our branding, create our launch platform, and ensure that Rookline communicates its values to our audience of golf enthusiasts.”
