Description

Background:

On November 8 and 9, 2024, France will host the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® World Championships in Toulouse.

The problem is that the extreme sport of competitive logging is unknown to the French public, even though it has a huge international success and enjoys a strong fanbase.

Idea:

To make people connect with this sport and understand its challenges, they need to experience it from the inside. Therefore, we decided to reach out to the public by introducing them to the sport through the eyes of an unconditional fan: Valentin, 16 years old.

Execution:

We created an original documentary film in which we followed the fan behind the scenes of the French team. After following them in five shoots in Europe, we compiled hundreds of hours of raw footage to create ‘In the Fan's Eye’: An authentic, immersive documentary that plunges viewers into the heart of the sport. This team fights daily against doubts, exhaustion, and feats, giving their all to try and beat the best loggers in the world.
