THIS HAPPENS ON PS5 is PlayStation’s new global concept, a campaign that celebrates the unique, unexpected and unforgettable moments players have experienced —and will continue to experience— on the console.
The concept is built on a simple yet powerful premise: the impossible happens on PS5. Since its launch, millions of players have shared reactions of awe, discovery and pure emotion that define the essence of the brand. Every impossible jump, every story that moves us and every unexpected encounter inside a game becomes a shared memory. This campaign captures precisely that: the magic that happens when gaming transcends the screen and becomes an experience.
At CLV, we were responsible for “The spaceship that crashed in Sol”, an activation in the heart of Madrid’s Puerta del Sol and one of the most spectacular actions of the entire campaign. We transformed the iconic commuter station into a crashed spaceship straight out of the PlayStation universe. Both inside and out, the station became a wrecked spacecraft that astonished millions of people and marked the beginning of a transmedia narrative that connects fiction with reality.
The cause of this mysterious crash was revealed days later in a short film starring TheGrefg, El Xokas and Ampeter, where the creators investigate a series of anomalies causing extraordinary events such as the crashed ship in Madrid. From there, a search for lost PlayStation Universe objects begins —a community-driven experience that invites players to actively participate and continue the story beyond the screen.
This is a global project that sets a new milestone in the communication of a brand that keeps redefining the limits of experience. The creative concept originated at CLV, with CABAL Esports Productions leading the short film production, Mediacom handling media planning, and Global, Wild Pony and WE ARE CP overseeing technical, graphic and audiovisual production.
