Description
Major League Soccer has launched its largest coordinated marketing campaign to date, ‘Thanks World, We’ll Take It From Here’, as the MLS regular season resumes following the FIFA World Cup. Created by Ogilvy, the league-wide initiative aims to convert the global excitement generated by the tournament into long-term engagement by encouraging fans to continue their soccer journey through MLS. The campaign reflects the league’s growing confidence both on the field and within culture, using storytelling, music and cultural collaborations to showcase the weekly competition, local rivalries and live matchday experiences that define MLS.
The campaign spans national broadcast, streaming, digital, social, out-of-home and media partnerships, making it the most expansive marketing effort in league history. Alongside the national work, 15 MLS clubs have developed localised campaigns tailored to their communities, while all 30 clubs are hosting Soccer Celebrations, fan viewing events, local media partnerships and other activations designed to extend the World Cup’s momentum into cities across North America.
As the season resumes, every MLS club will introduce promotions and special offers to attract new supporters, with 22 clubs participating in the ‘First Match On Us’ initiative by offering complimentary tickets to first-time attendees. MLS says the campaign is designed to make the league more accessible while turning World Cup interest into lasting connections with clubs and communities. The national and local creative also features a roster of global icons, celebrity owners and MLS stars.
