Agency: CALLING

Description

Demand for perinatal mental health services rose by 40% between August 2022 and March 2023 with over 30,000 women 1 currently on waiting lists for mental health support, according to NHS England data. To highlight their holistic support for parents and families - NSPCC presents "Reconnecting" - a powerful film that raises awareness of the mental health issues that can arise after the life-changing event of giving birth.

Using a documentary approach, CALLING and NewLand director Libby Burke Wilde gathered testimony from a number of new mothers to uncover the nuances of their life experience. Through the contents of a real letter submitted during the research process, the story for "Reconnecting" was found.

Featuring actor Louisa Lytton, this true life experience was woven into a raw and moving film. The story shows not only the difficulties and isolation of new motherhood - but also the transformative effect of remaining connected to our families, friends and communities.

The creation of the film brought together many individuals with direct experience of postnatal loneliness and perinatal mental health. This imparts the work with a deep authenticity and emotional resonance. The film will run across NSPCC's owned and earned media channels from 19th October.

This professional campaign titled 'Reconnecting' was published in United Kingdom in October, 2023. It was created for the brand: NSPCC, by ad agency: CALLING. This Film medium campaign is related to the Health industry and contains 1 media asset. It was submitted 6 months ago.
