New Notes, Same Germs
To commemorate World Health Day, Red Cross Nigeria engaged Takeout Media to highlight a major public health issue most Nigerians ignore; money handling.
We approached the campaign narrative from the insight that most people don't know where their money has been and if they did, they would probably handle it better and practice better hygiene. It was also timely as the Nigerian government just released the newly redesigned Nigerian Naira notes.
The "New Notes, Same Germs" campaign was a video campaign aimed at educating people on the importance of regular hand-washing, especially when handling money. The campaign made use of a relatable storytelling approach to convey the message in a way that was both engaging and memorable without losing the key message.
The relatable story served as a wake-up call to viewers, emphasizing the need to practice regular hand-washing and carry a sanitizer when handling money.
Overall, the campaign successfully raised awareness on the importance of hand hygiene and encouraged people to take simple steps to protect their health.
