Design Army just created a GIGANTIC (23x22x50 foot!) installation + AI mural in downtown DC that celebrates the city’s HUGE art and design culture with a totally reimagined cityscape. And in the MOST fun, whimsical way ever!
Created for CityCenterDC—the city’s BIGGEST fashion district—the bold, experimental installation is anything but conventional DC. The serious political vibe and monochromatic landscape? Gone. Painting the nation’s capital as the new creative playground, the fantastical wall-to-ceiling, three-panel mural collages Washington's best creative, fashion, foodie, architectural, and historical elements.
Wonderfully weird, joyful and CRAZY COLORFUL, the surrealist public work mashes Renaissance-style art (inspired by The Smithsonian’s collection), SCI-FI, fashion, the National Zoo’s pandas, cherry blossoms, DC’s iconic monuments, landmarks and more.
And a scroll-stopping, delightfully kooky social campaign—with photography by Dean Alexander—highlights Washingtonians biggest influencers in fashion, art and design.
Design Army has been the creative leaders in embracing AI technology—and everything about this installation is EYE-POPPING and future-forward. Yet, the wildly imaginative collage has still been thoughtfully human-crafted/hand-touched to bring this re-envisioned, freshly unexpected DC landscape to life.
