SunMed Growers wanted to engage with potential consumers at dispensaries across the state when the recreational market opened on July 1, 2023. They also wanted to highlight their recent sweep of wins in the Baltimore Sun's "Best of Medical Marijuana" competition and promote the quality of their "sun-grown" products to new consumers.
We knew we had to create something fun, viral, and able to capture customer data for future outreach. By leveraging augmented reality and a portable photo kiosk, we invited interested consumers to put themselves and their friends inside the SunMed greenhouse alongside Maryland's "Best Buds". The final portraits are optimized for easy sharing on social media, letting new consumers, influencers and brand advocates spread the SunMed brand while also celebrating the legalization of recreational cannabis in Maryland.
