IWD | BOSS

School: ORANGE ACADEMY

The stark, black-and-white portrait of a woman with visible wounds forces viewers to confront the harsh realities many women face. The contrast between the large, bold typography spelling "BOSS" and the subtle, chilling definitions beside it creates an unsettling yet powerful duality. The ad redefines what it means to be a boss, shifting it away from struggle and survival and towards leadership, choice, and empowerment. The final line, "Women deserve to write their own stories, not just survive them," reinforces the urgency of action needed to protect women and give them the opportunities they rightfully deserve.

Description

This ad was created in recognition of International Women’s Day, a moment to not only celebrate women but also push for real change. It directly addresses gender-based violence, inequality, and the urgent need for systemic change—especially in Nigeria and across Africa, where these issues are deeply rooted.

The campaign calls on individuals, communities, and institutions to move beyond acknowledgment and into action—accelerating change towards a future where women don’t just endure, they thrive.
