In Mongolia, we launched the social campaign “Inheriting a Green Planet” to amplify the voices of young herders actively combating desertification. The campaign showcases how these young leaders are creatively reviving traditional knowledge, restoring degraded lands, and contributing to a sustainable future.
Through this video, we aimed to highlight that nature is as valuable as the cultural heritage passed down through generations. Most importantly, the campaign emphasized that everyone’s participation matters-not just the experts.
While desertification is a widely discussed topic in Mongolia, conventional messaging often feels repetitive or distant, failing to truly engage the public. The main challenge was to present the issue beyond statistics and formal statements-in a way that feels fresh, engaging, and relatable. Content needed to resonate with both urban and rural audiences, fostering a genuine sense of connection.
