Toronto would give just about anything to keep their MVP, Kawhi Leonard, in the city and playing for the Raptors. One particular fan, fondly known as “Plant Guy”, found himself on the news offering up his plant as a housewarming gift to Kawhi. It became a viral sensation, inspiring others fans to bring their plants to the championship parade on Monday.
IKEA Canada was quick to react on social media to promote their live plants as housewarming gifts for champions. Their marketing team had fun responding to comments on Instagram with personalized jokes and hashtags, like #WeTheForest and #YouStay to ones they particularly liked.
If you didn’t know IKEA sells real plants, you do now. Fun (Guy) fact, they also happen to look great next to the Championship Trophy.
