Developed in partnership with Anomaly, the Super Bowl campaign stems from the growing frustration consumers feel with excessive food delivery fees, positioning Grubhub as the brand willing to “eat the fees” on orders over $50.

As the original food delivery website, Grubhub has always centered its business around food. However, in recent years, the barrage of fees across the category has grown increasingly out of control, often overshadowing the experience itself. In the :30 hero film, the story unfolds during a bizarre and dramatic dinner party, where a theatrical cast of guests dine together in an opulent setting.

Lending his signature visual style and tone, Lanthimos transforms the formal meal into an unsettling and darkly humorous experience, building tension with a track from his frequent musical collaborator, and Oscar-nominated composer, Jerskin Fendrix. As the meal reaches its conclusion, the waiter serves the final course, the fees. One guest asks, “Who will eat the fees?” The camera pans to reveal George Clooney, who calmly and heroically declares that Grubhub will eat the fees. The tension breaks as the guests erupt in celebration and shock, chanting Clooney’s line and reinforcing the brand’s promise.

The campaign airs nationally during the Super Bowl on February 8, 2026 on NBC.
