Ford’s first icon wasn’t a car

Agency: BBA

Description

For International Women’s Day, Ford Ecuador, dealership Orgu, and BBA Agency launched a print and digital campaign that brings attention to a little-known story in automotive history: Clara Ford, the woman who believed in the automobile when it still seemed like an impossible idea.

The campaign is built around a bold headline: “Ford’s first icon wasn’t a car.”
The main visual features a high-contrast portrait of Clara Ford, paired with a strong typographic composition that invites viewers to discover her role in the early days of the brand: supporting and standing behind Henry Ford’s vision when almost no one else believed in it.

But the idea went beyond advertising. Orgu also printed a special magazine telling Clara Ford’s story alongside those of other women who have been part of the automotive industry—an industry where records of their contributions are still surprisingly scarce.

This professional campaign titled 'Ford’s first icon wasn’t a car' was published in Ecuador in March, 2026. It was created for the brand: Ford, by ad agency: BBA. This Design, Digital, and Print media campaign is related to the Automotive and Personal Transportation industry and contains 6 media assets. It was submitted 1 day ago.
