Expedia® has launched its new 360 ‘Finding Liverpool’ brand campaign, centered around a three-part film series featuring six players from Liverpool FC’s men’s and women’s teams.

As the official travel partner of Liverpool Football Club, Expedia collaborated with Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Wataru Endō, Shanice van de Sanden, Missy Bo Kearns, and Fūka Nagano for the film series. The three-part series will be released in March and April, with a special edition featuring Jürgen Klopp set to premiere in May.

The films delve into Liverpool’s global fan base and showcase how the club, the city, and its welcoming multicultural communities make Liverpool a special destination to visit. Expedia emphasizes the unique experience of being in Liverpool with your Liverpool family through this campaign, which was developed in partnership with advertising agency Anomaly.

The digital branded content will be distributed across Expedia’s paid and owned social channels, as well as partner distribution channels and out-of-home activations. This content aims to encourage viewers to sign up with Expedia Live to explore the beautiful game and visit Liverpool themselves.

To enhance the ‘Finding Liverpool’ concept, Expedia has signed an individual ambassador deal with club captain Virgil van Dijk for the first time. In addition to appearing in the film series, Virgil will curate a Liverpool travel guide featuring his top 10 things to do in the city, with contributions from his teammates. This guide will be shared across social channels and PR platforms.

Future collaborations with Virgil could involve his appearance in brand advertising campaigns, editorial and social media content, PR activations, and brand engagement events for Expedia Group’s house of brands, including Expedia,, and Vrbo.

Virgil expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting his passion for travel and his excitement to inspire others to explore the world. Michele Rousseau, senior vice president of global brands at Expedia Group, emphasized the significance of the partnership with Virgil in spotlighting Liverpool as a trending destination and inspiring fans' passion for travel.
