From “Field of Dreams” to “Bull Durham” to “For the Love of the Game,” for nearly four decades actor Kevin Costner has been synonymous with America’s pastime. To help launch Topps’ Series 1 Baseball set – and to help celebrate 75 years of Topps Baseball – Costner has narrated a nostalgic look at the history of cards while also introducing this year’s flagship offering in a 60-second creative spot from the brand titled “Every Card Tells a Story”:

On its diamond year, the video’s POV takes the fan and collector through a diamond-like dream world, weaving through a virtual museum of the top cards of the last three quarters of a century. A quick cut takes you to this year’s Series 1 cards, “the next stories to be written,” says Costner, “...new faces…new dreams…preserved as a single frame in time…where the next chapter begins.” The spot was directed and designed by yU+co, who developed the opening credits for HBO’s “House of the Dragon” as well as 100 feature films, including working with Steven Spielberg, Ang Lee and Ridley Scott.
