Description
Credit One Bank brings back its Credit Wreckers for “Credit Scaries,” a Halloween campaign created with Deutsch that uses classic horror movie tropes to make harmful credit habits easier to understand. Set in an eerie cabin in the woods, the film follows a group of anthropomorphised credit cards being terrorised by the monstrous characters.
Cancelina attacks a card with scissors, symbolising the consequences of cancelling credit cards, while Max Out pushes another card to its limit at a payment terminal. One Track Jack kidnaps a card to represent the risks of relying on only one form of credit, and Miss Payment embodies the dangers of missing monthly payments.
The horror-inspired scenarios turn common financial mistakes into memorable characters and frightening situations, making credit education more engaging and relatable. Each Credit Wrecker represents a behaviour that can damage a person’s credit, using exaggerated scares to bring the potential consequences to life.
Despite the frightening encounters, the campaign ends on an optimistic note: the final card escapes, reinforcing Credit One Bank’s message that people can protect themselves from harmful credit habits with the right tools and financial education.
