Some people live in a bubble of ignorant bliss about the Syrian refugee crisis. This campaign brings the struggle of Syrian refugee children to our world in a way that's difficult to ignore. We wanted to highlight the loss of childhood for refugee children through a medium commonly associated with childlike innocence. In this case, that medium is colorful clay. There's a natural juxtaposition between the playful nature of the clay and the deadly nature of the objects themselves that, when paired with the other parts of the ad, is simply...jarring.

This student campaign titled 'Childhood at War' was published in United States in October, 2019. It was created for the brand: International Rescue Committee, by ad school: S.I.
