In a dating site social activation campaign, Travelocity invites consumers to convince the Travelocity “Roaming Gnome” to pick them to be his travelmate. The primary media is Tinder, where the gnome has what appears to be his own dating profile page, where consumers can get to the contest entry details by “swiping right.” Additional support advertising (display banners) runs on other dating sites such as, OKCupid, PeopleMedia, etc., and targets a broad, young audience, adults 25 – 35.
