Description
Building on its successful “Big Deal” brand platform, CarGurus set out to create a talent-led campaign that could build on emotional connection with audiences while also delivering on performance marketing goals. Working together, CarGurus and Vagrants developed a campaign centered on rising football star Drake Maye and his wife, content creator Ann Michael Maye, that moves beyond the traditional celebrity endorsement to offer audiences a more personal look at the professional quarterback’s life.
"A Drive in the Life" is a five-minute, documentary-style hero film set in Maye’s hometown in North Carolina, following him as he visits his high school and the neighborhoods where he grew up. The creative leaves space for natural interactions and unexpected moments to drive the story, while keeping one central idea intact: Cars aren’t simply a means of getting from one place to another; they’re spaces where milestones happen, traditions are built and memories are made.
The campaign was designed from the start to deliver both memorability and performance. Alongside the long-form film, CarGurus and Vagrants developed purpose-built, hardworking performance creative as part of a broader ecosystem spanning paid social, out-of-home, website content, behind-the-scenes content and additional campaign assets.
