I wouldn't go so far as to say that this ad sucks big times. However, it certainly sucks since I don't wanna see any shadow-ideas anymore.

Though shadows are used to convey the power of Maglight, I don't see this
as just another shadow idea. Sorry, Heads, I beg to disagree.

Yes, in this case I think the shadow idea is cool and relevant. But I've seen the same concept for another lamp or battery brand... Maybe in the last Archives. I can't remember.

Nice! the site is back! good! How to say, the idea is there, exaggerate the effects of the brand.
A way to promote it la but just not that big impact.

William Bernbach - An idea can turn to dust or magic, depending on the talent that rubs against it.

I get the US entering china, and the french entering England, but umm, wot? Jesus (christians) entering jerusalem? Shouldnt it be a crescent moon then?

I think you didn't get the idea. The shadow is of a famous Brazilian monument (Christ Redeemer - http://www.new7wonders.com/index.php?id=397 ). If the shadow is in Jerusalem, the light must be really bright. In another ad in the same campaign, the Eiffel Tower cast a shadow in the egyptian pyramids.
