It could be "original" if it was executed well. The idea itself is not hard to come up with.

I love her work. I let her know via e-mail, in case she is unaware. It's a really flagrant violation of artistic ethics.

I disagree. Like I said previously, this does not seem like some super original idea that other people can't possibly come up with. And on your blog, someone mentioned this other photographer or artist who's created a similar series: http://www.zefrank.com/youngmenowme/blog/

So I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that this is a flagrant violation of artistic ethics.

She links back to Ze Frank, which is the right thing to do. And her style is much more sophisticated, recreating the original style and format. That's what I see copied here.

This wave of old photos is common on the Internet. The idea of using this technique to sell the extended warranty was great. Advertising lives of movie references, arts, music ... just look at many campaign wins at Cannes, congrats guys!

Well said. Last time I checked advertising was a business which uses forms of art to fulfill it's purpose... It is primary objective is not creating "new artistic ideas". I hate when people go like "OMG it is so done! They used PHOTOS OF PEOPLE!!!,It has been done millions of times before." If you have some other ad campaign which is based on this concept I will accept the fact it was DONE. But if we are speaking ad-wise using a pre defined art concept on a campaign for the first time can be as original as creating a new art concept,

Fair enough.

But as you might be aware, this isnt just "OMG photos of people" but rather complaining about the lack of creativity when an agency is just using a particular photographic style that gained popularity on the interwebs a couple of months ago.

Yes, it does the job. At the same time, its not exactly overly creative, not to mention "OMG AMAZING 10/10!!!11!1"

PS: Dont you dare use the "!!!!111!1!!1" art concept in your next work!11!1!!

a new member gives 10 stars to a bad ad. and from the look of things, english isn't their native language. (if i had to guess, i'd say they were from brazil.)

even more surprising, another new member fully agrees with their comment. also with questionable english. something tells me we've found the "creative" team responsible for these ads.
