Hot Wheels is a VERY popular brand of mass produced die-cast toy cars made by Mattel (same guys who make Barbie). Sold everywhere in the Americas, Asia, Australia, Europe, Middle East and Africa. They also have a high collectible value. Their chief rival is Matchbox.

So yes, a lot of people know about it. And likely, the target market which are toy buyers, parents and even collectors are more than aware.

While it isn't what spacemanghandi intended, this assumption reminds me of people on this board assuming a product is a scam because they never heard of the brand. Which is sometimes unfair to the small brands. Does this mean we should stop making ads for local clients?

Would you laugh at a brand like Anta which isn't as famous as Nike, Adidas or even And1, Reebok and Mizuno? Well, it is the number one shoe in China and by sheer volume is beating most of those better known brands. They recently signed Kevin Garnett and their agency is a multi-national.

Yet I'm pretty sure some arrogant kid here would be quick to point out that an Anta ad is a scam solely on his or her personal ignorance of the brand.

So fellas, please Google before you leap.

Actually hot wheels from time to time cleans up in the awards shows. Because it's been awarded quite a few times it has quite a high level of difficulty to get something fresh. Unfortunately this campaign is way below the level that's been set. Plus, let's be honest, it looks like blatant scam. No way would this have run as an ad. Totally off brand with concept and art direction.

well, it goes like this: the girl wanted "speed" with her baby-cart and failed. Go buy some REAL toy car.

the other prints too just want to say that, normal toys aren't for speed, for they shall bring nothing but disaster playing speedy with them. So go with hot-wheel for your speedmaniac children with guaranteed safety.
