i guess it's supposed to look like their logo (http://www.emiratespalace.com), which would only work if it was incredibly well known. i'm bored now.

Well yeah there's a bit of that, the logo looks kinda similar to the visuals, easy guess... However haven't you ever noticed how middle eastern people are dressed?!! Men in white, women in black!!

Well if om not wrong, there is something related with UAE locals clothing, mans wear long white tunics and ladies black long ones... actually if it´s like this... its good.

Guest

well, yes - if this is supposed to be a man/woman-thing it's showing that men are the big ones...

Guest

It's because men are physically bigger than women...hence the larger brush. Little bit of thinking goes a long way.

So it's a man/woman thing--how are people outside the UAE supposed to know that? Especially since these seem to be ads targeting TOURISTS? Wrong message to the wring audience.

It doesn't really matter if you didn't get the idea.. simply because you were not among the target audience! This campaign meant to call people from the LOCAL MARKET ONLY to come and see the Emirati Expressions (Arts)

The man who stops advertising to save money is like the man who stops the clock to save time

who ever lives in the gulf will get the idea,
Part of the art is to educate the audience, so get more educated people and learn more about other cultures!

This ad was targeted towards the community in the UAE to see the Emirati Expressions, not people outside the country. It's like saying a 5 year old's toy is boring to you and you're say...30 years old. Of course it will be boring, because it's not targeted towards you. Understand the picture now? I think this is a very creative idea, I like it!

so if you are an emirati and you know what emirati expression is, you would get it.
But then why would you need an ad? Probably to promote the date at which the exhibition happens?
I just find the date too difficult to read, it should be bigger. And for the non emirati who don't know what emirati expression is, then a bit of explanation wouldn't hurt (at least if the objective of the campaign is to drag some visitors to the exhibition).
Could be anything form a wording contest, cover of a new phrase book, conference, facial aspects (hahahaha like emirati look like bottles or like paintbrushes :-)
