Big party at the weekend? Does this make sense in the UK? Wouldn't it be better to say "Big party this weekend?" or "Big party over the weekend?"

As an American working in London, this is something that has thrown me before. It does make sense here even though it's not how we would say it in the States.

The ads suck and they are currently plastered all over the underground. They're infuriatingly badly done and as many comments here and around London attest, they are more likely to annoy people and send them to the pub than get them to cut back on their drinking.

Basic copywriting... just too basic. more like a direction signage cum cut-and-paste work of a common.
