I agree the concept is weak, it feels shallow, no urge no sympathy no nothing. I think it won simply because it was amnesty and they had to win something.

Personally I like this cartoony look. It adds to the emotion of excitement, thrill, collectivity...etc. Kind of reminds me of a "heroic" comic stripe I've seen before...
Anyways, I like the idea!
