Initially I thought these ads were just impacting on people drinking while driving and having a severe accident and losing the ones they love and being unable to interact or touch them ever again. See, he looked dead to me.
However...after reading everyone else's comments it also makes a lot of sense that a hangover also makes you unable to interact with your loved ones!!

essentially, it's a message against binge drinking. usually the day after binge drinking, you feel extremely hungover. sick, tired, get the sweats, etc. you are "dead to the world" - you can't do anything because you feel took sick from the night before. i think the glass plays this up some, but is more so just a visual for drinking from the night before.
