Description

Every minute 27 girls are forced into marriage. That's 2 every second. Child marriage is a global problem. The practice violates girls' human rights, curtails their education, harms their health and sharply constrains their future. The start of a solution is simple: more education. Getting girls to school means delaying marriage. And by becoming a Plan parent that's exactly what you're helping to achieve.

This is a well put together and powerful ad. It brings light to a serious problem by demonstrating what some young girls around the world are put through. By using young girls and having them explain how they are so young but will be forced to marry, it's a strong emotional advertising appeal. I'm sure if women could imagined themselves in the place of those girls they would be astounded that little girls go through that. Men can also be impacted if they placed themselves in the situation or if they have a younger sister, daughter, other relative, or friend that is a young girl and thinking about how they would feel if they were in that kind of culture. The organization does a good job of informing the audience of the problem and the emotional appeal will draw more people to become involved. Although having young girls describe the issue can be manipulative, it's effective. For such an important and not as well known and supported issue, the ad used great elements to get people's attention. For instance, tying the age of the girls to the same age some are just to watch a movie is moving and really puts the situation into perspective. While there are some children and parents watching movies, there are other children out there that are forced into adulthood before they can watch certain movies. It's a creative and successful way to get the message across. The children may have been actors for a dramatization, but the stories can definitely be testimonials as the practice occurs all around the world. Overall, this ad is effective and informative. I think if shown to enough people it can help generate support for the cause.

Unexpected, the movie theatre one worked the best because the script tied right back to the movie people people were about to see.
