Case El Ojo - Self-Destruct Trophy

Description:

An integrated action that has been causing a lot of fuss in our advertising market here in Brazil.
The client is the El Ojo de Iberoamerica advertising festival, that will take place in Buenos Aires, this November. We sent to some of the most prestigious agencies in Brazil (DDB, Ogilvy, Draft,+FCB, BBDO, etc) a El Ojo Grand Prix inside a shockproof pod. All trophies will self destruct in the exact date the jury decides the GPs in Buenos Aires: November 25th. For real. Well, not all. If one of the agencies actually wins a Grand Prix, its trophy will be safe. How? You’ll see in the video. We shot a funny and well produced viral video to spread the word about the trophy. And now, every agency that enters at least 50 pieces in the El Ojo Festival can ask for a Self Destructible Trophy to place it on the awards shelf. At least until November 25th.

Hmm nice idea but could be a bit expensive and did they just say that any agency who entered over 50 ads could get this thing? How does that fit with 'trying to get more agencies then?'

I mean, they're advertising it with their existing customers to get new customers? That's weird.

Just wondering - Do agencies pay per entree for such a festival? (Wondering where their budget comes from)

That is fucking awesome!!! these guys they're killing it!!!! seriously well done. And the fact that they actually made it self destruct!!! GOLD. well done for doing something different and edgy for a call for awards.

Very expensive, but very very good idea. Makes everyone talk about the award in the agency.

Jack, answering your question: 80% of the entries' revenue come from less than 10 agencies. If the Festival increases the average entries for some of those 10 agencies, the final number will rise significantly. (by: Santa Clara team)
