Ok, lets destroy nature and print an ad on it to show how much we care about it.

This ad is the equivelant of chopping down a tree, converting it into paper and then printing an ad on the paper that says dont chop down trees.

In Asia, some recipes need banana leaves as wrappers (they add special scent and taste). FYI, banana trees are easily grow, they even grow by themselves without any care at all. Thus, they are NOT endangered. Besides, I don't think they cut down acres of banana trees to make their ads. O yeah, one banana tree has a lot of leaves, too.

I think it's a good campaign. A good use of banana leaves, too.

Idea is fragile

It doesn't say care about it... just in touch with the experience of nature.

Besides, banana leafs are fine. It's been traditionally used to wrap food, unlike MacDonald's tray liners.

I love how they did this! They silk screened the leaves by hand! I bet it was non-toxic ink too. The leaves are from a banana tree, we don't know if the trees were cut down or if the leaves were harvested. Pretty non-invasive as far as printing goes. They didn't use paper which goes through a process that creates tonnes of waste, they didn't use regular printing press, also terrible for the environment.
Don't particularly care for the art or the message though.

For those who thinks making this piece destroy environment, I think u need to go round the third world country. Knowing this work from Colombia, BRILLIANT guys. For those critics, next time you eat banana, make sure u know where it came from. (Definitely NOT of sub tropical climate origin) Harvesting banana leaf doesn't mean destroying the trees, dimwit!!! And I agree with ellehcimeo, this is the most environmental friendly flyer ever made (do you know how long does a newspaper need to decompose inside the soil?) Banana trees grows anywhere in my country and very easy, like bamboo. One day you see sapling the next day you see a tree of one person height. People still use banana leaves to wrap food in my country and the trash are considered, ORGANICS! We even make smoke pipe from the roots. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK Columbia!
Let's show some appreciation shall we, guys?

The banana plant only produces fruits once in the life. We have used those leaves that were going to be destroyed after the production of the fruit.
