This is a Symptom of Autism

Autism is a developmental disability that results from differences in the brain. These differences can give rise to exceptional strengths and abilities such as heightened attention to detail and creativity. However, families with autistic children may face various challenges.
In Iran, there is little public awareness about Autism. A majority of people do not know what autistic children look like, what they do, and what society can do for them. Additionally, autistic individuals may face discrimination or misunderstanding from others who do not understand their condition. Families may struggle with finding appropriate support and resources, managing the financial costs of treatment, and coping with the emotional stress of caring for a loved one with autism.
To spread awareness about Autism and the challenges faced by autistic children and their families, Badkoobeh Creative Communication Solutions and Iran Autism Association collaborated on a CSR project. The project aimed to promote respect for the differences of autistic individuals, encourage people to treat them with kindness, patience, and understanding, and discourage making assumptions or judgments about their behavior or abilities. Additionally, the project aimed to provide support and resources for individuals with autism and their families.
Launched in 2018, the project consists of one media asset and OOH artwork. The artwork features the phrase "This is a symptom of Autism" repeatedly displayed all over the work. This cleverly references one of the common symptoms of Autism, where Autistic children may repeat a phrase or sentence due to finding comfort in the predictability and familiarity of the words.
