Romance Is Simpler

“Valentine's Day can add pressure on partners in a few ways. The occasion is often marketed as a time to express love and affection through elaborate date plans, and other romantic gestures. However, this emphasis on grand gestures and displays of affection can make some partners feel like they need to go above and beyond to show their love and appreciation.

For some people, this pressure can cause anxiety and stress. They may worry that their efforts won't be enough or that they won't be able to live up to their partner's expectations.

The inspiration for our idea was a simple but profound realization: we all strive to be extra romantic on Valentine's Day, but sometimes we go overboard and forget that it's the small, thoughtful gestures that have the greatest impact. Our campaign centered on the idea of surprising your partner with a romantic gesture, and seeing all the ways it could potentially go wrong, from burning down the house while attempting a fancy dinner to facing the wrath of nature while setting up a romantic dessert outdoors to pampering your husband with a haircut and.... I don’t even need to begin with what could go wrong.

By playing with these extremes, we were able to add a comical element to the campaign while still conveying the message that romance doesn't have to be complicated. We wanted to tap into the shared experience of having a romantic gesture backfire and leave our viewers with the impression that Floward makes romance Simpler.
