Heroes about Heroes

There are many gaps in the historical memory of Ukrainians. Perhaps, in part, that's why tragic events of the past keep repeating over and over again.

To fill these gaps and emphasize the relevance of history, SAPHIRA Agency created a special project called "Heroes about Heroes" – modern heroes (Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel, paramedics, volunteers) tell stories about Heroes of the past — Cossacks.

Each character recites an excerpt and invites users to explore the complete historical material to deepen their knowledge about the real heroes of Ukraine from various periods and to see parallels between the events of those times and the ongoing war.

It is particularly touching and inspiring that these Heroes found time to help popularize the true history of Ukraine, despite being currently on the front lines, defending their country.

The special project was created within the Histogram website – Igor Poluektov's project dedicated to filling gaps in Ukraine's history. As a historian enthusiast, he has been waging an information war since 2014, uncovering previously unknown facts about Ukraine in global archives. Since February 2022, he has also been defending the country within the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
