Liga Betclic and Underdogs Gallery have teamed up in an art, sport, and circular economy project, which ultimately aims to rehabilitate public basketball courts.

Every year, countless balls used in pro basketball matches are discarded for regulatory reasons - as game balls must be renewed every year. This is where Art Dunk comes in: 24 balls were given to 12 artists selected by Underdogs to be transformed into works of art. Hélio Bray, Mariana A Miserável, Fiumani, Kruella D'Enfer, Tamara Alves are some of the names that accepted the challenge. The concept of the project is open to all kinds of interpretations - so that some of the works of art created don't even have the original shape of the ball that was given to them, leaving this freedom exclusively to each artist.

The result was unveiled on 8 May, when the works were presented and put on sale online (www.artdunk.pt). The revenue generated with the sales will revert, in its entirety, to the requalification of a public basketball court.
